Are Selmer Saxophones alright for a Jazz Band?
I'm a high school senior who chugged through all my high school music on a 30 year old student Yamaha saxophone. Now I'm looking to purchase something a little better, as I will be needing it for my local community band and potentially for University music classes.I came to settle on the Selmer La Voix II Alto, both for the quality of the instrument and the price. But after reading reviews of the instrument, I get the impression that its tone is on the bright and metallic side. If I should end up taking Jazz classes or going into my local community jazz band, would my saxophone be adequate, or would I be better off with another model?Note that I plan to buy the saxophone off wwbw.com, and have no chance to try before I buy.
